Overview

     The job market in the U.S. increasingly will require mathematical, scientific and technical skills. In addtion, the increasing use of network tools, such as the Internet, is an essential skill used in education and the workplace.  Currently, science and technology education in 4H is classified into engineering, automotive, small engines, aerospace and bicycle project areas.  This needs to be broadened to include modern technologies, such as Information Technologies and Biotechnology, as well as to insure science and technology in 4-H curricula are strengthened.  This program focuses on insuring that Florida youth aquire the necessary technology and science skills to become contributing members to society, and to be aware of the ethical issues related to the use and application of technology.


The Kids and Youth Section

Kid's and Youth Section

     The Kids' and Youth learning area provides important computer information and training in a fun and interesting manner. It presents various lessons and activities through a series of four different sections, in increasing order of difficulty. The projects in this area will help youth develop their knowledge of the computer itself, as well as the use of several of the most vital software applications. With over 20 different projects to choose from, the learning area offers a wealth of computer and technology information.
